Braila Prayer Walking Zones 9 10 11

A little muddy ...

1981 was an eternity ago...may others be saved by Grace as I was...back in 1992. When I graduated High School I was a million miles from Christ....but He still found me...may He use me to find others...

Prayer Walking in Braila

I am so proud of Gabie, Katie, Robert,Justin, Florine and Andrew for helping me prayer walking this city. We had a great time of fellowship also. Afterwards 5 Ron hotdog's and Soda's for everybody.

A little prayer room for the people in zone 12 Braila. If only they really knew that this in and of itself is the Gospel. That Christ died for their sins. That only the message of Christ crucified they can be saved. God's WORD became flesh and dwelt among us. He has promised Eternal Life to all that would repent and put their faith in Christ. Almost KNOW othordox person knows how they are made right with God. They just don't know...

We found a nice place to hand out the "EV Soccer Ball" yesterday. Robert handed little Bible Studies to each of of the 15 or so soccer players. We will return with a EV Soccer ball and present the Gospel to them.

Christmas 2008 here comes 2009

Here is a video of the circle in Galati. It is really beautiful this time of year. I was driving around the circle and trying to use my 'flip' camera at the same time. This is not for the ones who have trouble walking and chewing gum at the same time! We were on are way home from a very nice evening with Randy and Teresa. They treated us to a evening of fun and food! It is great having team mates now as we are going through our sixth Christmas season on the mission field! This is the first one for Randy and Teresa and our first one with team mates. We look forward to a great 2009.

This was the sign Andrew and Katie left for Randy and Teresa... we had a great time!!!

Once again we celebrate Chrsitmas. Many of you wish you were here to see this wonderful Christmas tradition. So I decided to go ahead and show show you what you are missing!!!

What a blessing these packages are to the children here in Galati Valley. Please pray for this ministry to help once again reach the children in the valley with the Gospel.

Madalina

Madalina followed her very best friend into the baptismal waters. It was great to see these "best friends" make a public statement of their faith in Christ. I was sooo very proud of them for taking this symbolic step into the church. I pray that the Lord will use them to expand His Kingdom and that He will bless them as they follow Him for the rest of their lives or until He returns. Ciprean was right their also taking pictures....we pray that he too will take this wonderful step of obedience in the near future.

Viloleta

It was a great day to see these two precious ladies give their public testimony to Christ. I was so proud of them. They truely gave glory to God for their obedience to follow Him in spite of any and all obsticles that the enemy through their way. Madlina and Violeta are also helping to lead a Bible study in the valley at Gina's house who will start caticism for baptism this January along with her mother in law. We meet on Tuesdays... I am excited to see this happen and we are praying that Madalina and Violeta will grow as they help lead Marichica to Christ. I am so very proud of Violeta and hope the Lord blesses her 1000 times over for this.

Making Progress

Thanks for all your prayers... Many good things have happened since we quit blogging. I really just needed a break from every thing for a while. I wanted you to see the way we have the building now. We are going to start praying over both cities in the next two months so please pray that God will lead us to many people that will be receptive to the Gospel.

New Convert Mariara

Pray for this young lady. She really wanted to repent and there is no reason to doubt her desire. She really enjoys just hearing about God. Bogdon and Paula are working with them. I believe Randy and Teresa are taking language lessons with Marirara also as Paula is teaching her how to read. This was a great encouragement to us who work in the valley. Bogdon found him work but I am not sure if he really wants to work...pray for this.

First Official KDT Course Taught

This is the first time that I have really taught my own coarse! I have taken a few people through a few of the slides but not all in one week. It has been great to see the response of these young Romanians as they learn about the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. We are about half way through and will be pushing a bit to finish but we will make it.

Meeting with Teachers from Moldova

Andrew and I just returned from a trip to the mountians. I was able to connect with some of the teachers from southern Moldova. It was great to see them and their interest in Christ. I am hoping to begin some Bible studies there in the near future. On Wednesday night I gave my testimony and how Christ changed my life. They live only 10 Km from Galati in the village Geogelesti. They have around 3200 people living there that speak Russian and Romanian. It could be a great cross-cultural opportunity for us....well, just wanted to post something this week...so here it is...

380 Pressure Points after only five Days

Operation Team Spirit averages 76 points a day (only 55.5 during operation blackout; this is because our nationals are now better trained and are able to step up quicker and get through an encounter with more sensitivity to the progress they are making and we were in Zone 9 where the people density is much higher)! This is amazing work and the area is becoming more and more open to our method which will lead to more and more people being open to our message. Praise the Lord. They put 237 pressure points in ZONE 9 on top of the 103 that Operation Blackout left behind in Zone 9. That is 340 pressure points in one month for this Zone. What does that mean: It means that we in Zone 9 alone prayer walked 91 hours and had 115 Open Bible encounters (this translates to over 500 people hearing the Gospel for an extended period of time). This is amazing after only one month. We ran into people who we had talked with before and they were even more friendly the second time. PTL>

They left with:

10 points in Zone 3; (prayer walking in front of a big outside event)

23 points in Zone 4, (where we had our first Bible Study and missionary from Zone 6)

4 points in Zone 5,

46 points in Zone 6, (almost totally Bogdon, Elvis and Emi)

237 points in Zone 9, (Troop Surge on Tuesday all three teams there, 21 open Bible last night :)

Zone 9 receptive again

Worship on the inside Zone 6

Reporting from the Streets Zone 9

Zone 9 Is Warming Up

Team Spirit Midweek Report

So far we have done quite well in the Pressure Point arena:

Zone 4 = 23

Zone 6 = 42

Zone 9 = 180

with points awarded in other areas we have a total of 259 Pressure Points for this week. Very good considering that we have done several other navigating events that did not work directly towards a church plant but did strengthen relations with our local church.

Praise the Lord for this team that truely is allowing us to learn how to multiply our efforts by working in more then one zone at a time.

Bogdon Zone 6 Team Spirit

Bogdon has been leading the charge in the Valley. Things are going very well Praise the Lord. I caught him on the way home and did a quick interview. He is tired but full of Joy~Melenie was able to split off from Zone 9 and see the work in the valley with Bogdon, Elvis and Emi in the morning and Trey was able to see it in the afternoon. Two more people who have been introduced to God's beautiful work in the valley..

Operation Team Spirit Moves into Zones

CCSBA has 160 Pressure Points for those that are tracking our mission team. We have a church in Zone 6 so this is not so important to track these points as they really measure the progress towards a reproducing church plant. Zone 6 has a total of 18 points, Zone 4 has 23 and Zone 9 now has 119 after two days. God is blessing and we are now a stronger team. The reason we moved to Zone 4 is the receptivity we had there during Operation Blackout. So all is well, the team from CCSBA has had many God encounters and I have enjoyed meeting the three new team members. Trey and Amanda are sold out and have added much to our team this week. I am also very impressed with Melinie from upstate New York. She is doing awesome and also has the gift of encouragement.

Team Spirit kicks off big Night in Zone 9

Had a great meeting with Pastor Ovi yesterday with Mark Edworthy and others. Larry, David, Marshall and it went well. CCSBA presented a very nice wireless mike set to Pastor Ovi. We had a great visit.

Bogdon worked with Mark and Susie in the Valley, it was wonderful to have our Regional Leader set foot in the valley...PTL...for this.

Things are going great, we had nine teams out in Zone 9 last night and put just under 80 pressure points on the area with another encounter with John the preist. This was another great night. I worked with the ladies group from Zone 9 that has been praying for ten years to start a church in that area of town. Praise the Lord! All is going very well. I am late for our VERY FIRST bible studies in Zone 4. The Zone that was hot after Operation Blackout. We found one gate with over 14 families that are interested in studies. We also have another family that has 30 or so to meet with tonight. I will try and get some video tonight.

In a big hurry by.....

Work at a Bakery Answered Prayers We Hope

We pray that the Lord will open this door for the ladies in the valley. This lady may be able to hire 10 to 15 woman in the valley to work in the bakery that is located up in Zone 8. Today in about 2 hours we will take them to an interview.

I told the ladies that lesson three in the book taught us that some people were more interested in the bread that Jesus gives them day by day then they were the eternal bread that Jesus offeres. I also told them that it was easier to us to find jobs for people that were coming to our meetings each Sunday. I told them it was amazing how fast some of them jumped into the van to get work but didn't have time to come to our meetings in the valley! They all laughed as it was a perfect illustration to what Jesus was teaching in John chapter six Lesson 3 in our People Who Knew Jesus series. They had all been through that lesson more then once.

Yesterday's service was the first service where I said and did nothing. Bogdon preached, we had two gypsy missionies singing for us, Pastor Titi brought his group to sing, an older man jumped up and spoke for a while. We had a meeting for the youth and we had a meeting for the pre-school age kids. I am now out of a job looking for work to begin in Zone 4 . It was the most receptive of all Zones during Operation Blackout.

Operation Blackout Lights Up Galati

Pressure Points. 1. 1 point awarded for a team of two or three prayer walking for one hour

2. 2 points awarded for an OPEN BIBLE encounter that began with Five Questions

3. 3 points awarded for one lesson from the National Bible Reading Campaign

4. 4 points awarded for being with a group striving for the multiplication of groups primarily using the Ive been Born Again Now What, Galatians, Romans, or John Studies but a traditional church service does count. If 1000 people get together for one meeting it is four points. If a small group gets together for the express purpose of multiplying groups it is four points.

5. 5 points awarded for making a leader, a disciple through the 2nd Reformation, KDT of Life in the Body traning materials

TOTAL: July 5th through July 15th (555 pressure points)

Total (Pressure Points) for Operation BlackOut First Baptist Cameron are as follows:

Zone 1 = 42

Zone 2 = 66

Zone 3 = 14

Zone 4 = 28

Zone 5 = 3

Zone 6 = 13

Zone 7 = 56

Zone 8 = 80

Zone 9 = 103 (most points single day)

Zone 10 = 25

Zone 11 = 28

Zone 12 = 18

Zone 13 = 86

Zone 14 = 43

Total Team Cameron = Triple Nickle 555 Pressure Points put on the City of Galati!

Only God and those who participated KNOW how much work this was. Each individual prayer walked for 169 hours, as teams of two and three they had 359 points for SJWF encounters, which can be tripled for number of people that heard the Gospel for an extended period of time this would mean 1000 people easily heard the Gospel, (NOTICE there is NO number for number of hands raised, number of people that prayed prayers) , one lesson was taught to a 90 year old lady, and six meetings were attended. The Prayer Walking was easily over 100 miles and more accurate at around 250 Kilometers which is the equivalent of walking to Bucharest or about 150 miles! They are TIRED but I have never been more proud of a mission team then this time. They single handedly moved the Galati Plan to the next level of effectiveness! I know that they will GIVE God all the glory for this as it is not their heart to brag or take credit for what they do. A reflection of that which their Pastor Jay Raines has taught them... from the bottom of my heart...Thanks First Baptist Cameron for being ready and walking the extra 100 miles with Christ's Kingdom first and foremost on your mind.

NOTE: If you have noticed they collected a great deal of nationals to help them. This is the secret for a team that is coming to join operation Blackout. Let the Nationals lead....five people could not possibly get 555 pressure points with out the help of nationals.

AMEN!

Lesson Five Nicodemus must be Born Again

We are teaching through the book People Who Knew Jesus each Sunday Night. This is also when we show the DVD of the priest who was born again and kicked out of his role as priest. He has a very powerful testimony and the people here listen to the priests. HE tells them what it is like from the inside looking out and what is was like when he was kicked out and now he is getting the message of joy and happiness ONLY in Christ to as many who will hear...

FB Cameron is setting the Standard High PTL

Pressure Points are a way of measuring the current work towards that of leaving a church behind. They are applied when a team of two or three does any step of the Galati Plan. Find One Person, Ask One Question, Teach One Lesson, Form One Group, Make One Leader. So points are awarded as follows: Team of two or three prayer walking one hour in a zone = 1 point. Team confronts people in the Zone using SJWF that leads to an OPEN BIBLE encounter can last up to twenty minutes each = 2 points. Team teaches a lesson from the NBRC =3 points per lesson. Team sets in a group of any kind but primarily to be used for step 4 I've been Born Again Now what, Galatians, John and Romans studies. = 4 points. Any and all studies from the KDT, 2nd Reformation or Life in the Body is worth 5 points. So three teams prayer walk two hours. 6 points. They have 5 Open Bible encounters 10 points. A team of 300 people attend one church service = 4 points! It is designed to keep putting the pressure on the Kingdom of Darkness and measure the effectiveness of what we are doing compared to what we want to leave behind, which is of course a Cell Church. Sitting at your computer, reading commentaries, preparing sermons, playing video games, reading newspapers, ect = 0 points.

We have a team here now in Galati that is literally shaping the way we will continue to implement the Galati Plan through the National Bible Reading Campaign. They are leading the attack against Biblical Ignorance. In the streets they go and tell, every day, every night, two hours here three hours there. They have seen action in Zones 1-9. They a kind, they are gentle, they are fun, they are reaching out in love, they are united, they are perfect for the job. Thanks for praying and sending this team First Baptist. We have a chance at taking the campaign to a new level if the Lord would so will and bless our efforts. Please continue to pray for the team as the rules have changed a bit. I have backed off, I am asking the team to take what they have learned and apply it with less direction on my part. They will work the back side of the city with the resources and training they have. I want to see what a team left to their own can do. We WANT to be with them but this is a critical part of the test and needs to happen for this Operation Blackout to be tested on all fronts and angles that we can come up with.

104 Pressure Points Zone 9 with 163 People confronted

It was a long hard day but this team broke the 100 point mark for one Zone. This was not easy and will not be easy to repeat. We don't have the "fire power" we need the rest of the week to even touch this number again. I was so proud of these guys because it was HOT and we took it for three hours and I didn't hear ONE complaint. That is GOD working through us....

Here we are at night getting ready to break out and continue Operation Blackout. This is familure turf for FBC. They owned this place last year and it is where CCSBA is praying to help us start a church. They are coming in two weeks...All is well when God is leading and HE is leading.

Going Back to do Lessons in Zone 7

Found a 90 year old lady from Moldova, she is 90 and was sooo sweet to be around. They found her during the Prayer Walking in Zone 7 two days ago. We were not able to do a lesson as of yet becuase we felt it was more important to just listen to them and enjoy the visit. She was born in 1917 and the picture of her mother was taken when she was pregnant with her!

100 degrees temps bumps us over 100 points

It was Hot, we extended our normal two hour prayer walk for "one more" hour today. This was instantly approved by Lanny who said, hey "lets go three" in typical Lanny fashion. He knew his team was tired, he knew they wanted a break and needed one. I asked if they would mind working an extra hour to step up the pressure in this Zone where we are trying to plant a cell church. Well, at the end of the day it brought us about five more points...five teams....one extra hour.... 1 x 5 equals five more points which bumps us up over 100 pressure points. (That means nothing but God knows our hearts and why we do this and Jesus said be ready to go the extra HOUR if need be.) Thanks FBC you are a great team....

Zone 2 hit by the "A" Team

Sending Five teams into Zone 2 after three years of nothing...

Unofficial Count for Zone 2 Pressure Points is now at 6 + 10 for Prayer Walking along with around 25 encounters using SJWF for another 50 points. Total for Zone 2 is a total of 66 pressure points. This was definently over 75 people that heard the Gospel and actually closer to 100. It was a great day for Operation Blackout. Tomorrow we pick up Justin and Marty. I will dirve to Bucharest late tomorrow night. They land 12:10 midnight. The team will hit Zone 3 and then go to a prayer meeting at Holy Trinity that night followed by a soccer match. Cameron vs. Romania pray for Cameron..

Operation BlackOut Galati Romania

Operation BlackOut has begun. I have decided to work this team from Cameron as hard as I can. I need to hit this city again as it as been three years since we last prayer walked the entire city. This time we have a lot more "Fire Power!" I knew that I could ask this team to do the X-treme as they are nothing but ready for this challenge. I have asked them to try and reach every Zone, (All Fourteen) in this two week period. They have already hit Zone 4 by going to Holy Trinity twice. They have hit Zone 6 by attending our new church service in which we had nearly 80 people including 40 children. (This with the group from Zone 9 out of the city and Karla and Katie in the village) So things are going well.

We hit Zone 1 yesterday and Zone 2 today. In just an hour and half we will go to Zone 2 again and hit the street. We had a very interesting encounter today that I will spare those back home whom are praying -keep praying is the real need!

I am trying to use this team to develop a "pressure chart". This would be a way to determine the amount of pressure we are REALLY putting on a Zone. Step One is Prayer Walking so for every hour a "team of three" Prayer Walks they get one point. Step Two is Share Jesus Without Fear so for every person that they open the BIBLE with a team of three receives two points. Step three is teach one lesson so that would be three points for a team of three. Then Form One Group would be four points as it is the fourth step.

So far this team has 4 points in Zone 6, 8 Points in Zone 4 and yesterday racked up 36 points in Zone 1 and already has 8 points in Zone 2 before hitting the streets this evening. This will prove to be the very best thing that the team from FBC leaves behind. A method to determine the effectiveness of our efforts. We will continue to use this method after they leave. It will be a way to show them many great things about Church Planting. More teams more points. More step accomplishes more points. This will also show us where an area is more receptive. Well, we must go...all is well. PTL.

Zone 1 = 36 Points "July 7th'

Zone 2 = 8 points Prayer Walking with more to come in just one hour!

Romanian American Missions RAM

RAM came and is working in Galati this week. They have been in several villages this week. They have also encountered many problems from the Orthodox Priests there. But they were able to get through that problem and saw quite a few people. Today really went very well. They ran a very simple but effective clinic. They presented the Gospel to every person that they could and many "repeated" prayers of repentance. Pray that the Word will take root somewhere in the lives of those that prayed so that they can be "Born Again" some day. This team was run by Bob Jackson who has been coming to Romania and Moldova for many years. They are very committed to church planting here. I personally haven't worked with them as they have been centered out of Braila in the past.

Many people from the valley came to the clinic. There are many stories that were told. So many of their stories just breaks your heart. I would imagine that they had over 100 or so go through the clinic as they ran from 10:30 clear to 17:30. Randy stayed with them all day and did a great job of just serving. So praise the Lord for this team with a heart to serve the people in the valley. May God give them strength as they minister tomorrow up at the big church.

June 29 the end of our second month

We are getting great help from many people. Mihiaela from Jeremy's church and Virgel our here preparing to work with the children. They are a great blessing to me. They are members of Christina's group. Christina challenged them to work out side of the church and they listened !

We had around 65 there this morning including the children. We had about 10 here for the first time. We have had over 100 people from the valley attend but never at the same time.

Here the power of worship is great. The Romanian people love to worship God. It is a great testimony to those around our new location and can hear the singing.

We had quite a few come to help with the children. This ministry is going to explode..pray for them...

Good visit with Nicolie (The Curuta Ride driver)

I had a great visit with Danuti family yesterday. We talked quite abit about God and the need for Him. I found out the Danuti is in jail (in Italy) with another repenter. So God is working on him again. He found out that his friend Marian was murdered (killed) last week and is thinking very hard about his life. Pray for this repenter in the jail with him. Danuti has the little Bible I gave him hidden in his clothes...so may be just may be he will really repent. That would be awesome.

National Bible Reading Campaign

This is WHAT you really need to praying about.... if you take Plano and Ft. Worth Texas together you have just over the population of Galati and Braila county. The Population here between the two cities is around 650,000 as of 2008. How many EV churches are there in these two Texan Cities...hundreds if maybe thousands ..who knows...? How many Baptist churches are there here in these two cities....2 in Braila and 2 in Galati. There are two little gaterthings beyond that but not nearly enough to reach our area. We do have some large Brethern and Pentecostal churches here that would add 7 or so more churches to the count. So lets just say 10 EV churches! So 10 EV churches to reach out to the half a million people without Christ. Pray that God will help us MAKE DISCIPLES....here through this campaign.

Pray for Laura

Catalina after another convert

We had an interesting Bible Study yesterday in the valley. Catalina did lesson 7 with the family from 89 Dogari street. We call them the "nine families" family. Thru the lesson we lost all four men one by one.... some of them had also prayed about prayers in the past. We pray that someday they will see the need to actaully follow Christ. Any way there was a girl named Florentina that came to their house from Focsani who did want to pray a prayer and give her life to Christ. This is very common but we pray that the Lord accepted her prayer. She said that she would come to our meeting on Sunday. We hope she does. We spent about 30 minutes with her going over many passages of Scripture. Pray for Flori and that she will begin to follow Jesus and turn from her sins.

Romanian Prom Night

Robert has been seeing Danilia now for about six months. They seem to get along great. She is the oldest of four sisters. (Her younger sister Gabriela is becoming good friends with Katie). Violeta, Danelia's friend is pictured in the black dress, she is one of Danelia's classmates. I don't think that Robert suffered too much this night but I told him as a missionary family we must do things that we hate doing. Hanging out with these two must have been missarable but he did fine. Robert truely entered into their culture this night! He did not know how to dance and really stood out like a true believer in Christ, PTL for this! We finally went and rescued him around 2:00 A.M. He promised that he would never to anything like this again it was so difficult for him :) actually for his parents ONLY!!! Daniella's family found Christ through an English team that came to their village to share the Gospel some time ago. They had been attending the Pentacostal church but now are attending the "Church in the Valley." They just adopted us!

Went to see Resvans Family

Just For DOC

Taken from wiki....

The MaramureÅŸ wooden churches in Northern Transylvania are a selection of eight examples of different architectural solutions from different periods and areas. They are Orthodox churches. They are narrow but high timber constructions with characteristic tall, slim bell towers at the western end of the building. They are a particular vernacular expression of the cultural landscape of this mountainous area of northern Romania.
MaramureÅŸ is perhaps one of the better-known regions of Romania - but still not much travelled. Its well-preserved wooden villages and churches, its traditional lifestyle, and the local colourful dresses still in use make MaramureÅŸ as near to a living museum as can be found in Europe. The beautiful gentle landscape of fields and meadows, dotted with farms and villages, and its inhabitants, welcome visitors with wide-open arms. The famous wooden churches of the region were built during the 17th and 18th centuries, on the place of older churches that no longer exist. They are a response to a prohibition against stone Orthodox churches. The churches are made of thick logs, are quite small and dark inside, and painted with rather “naïve” Biblical scenes. The most characteristic features are the tall tower above the entrance and the massive roof that seems to dwarf the main body of the church.

At the ski area in Brashov is also a beautiful church like this.....

Form One Group

This Bible study is happening as I post it. I left Teresa just a few minutes ago as she started her first lesson from the step Form One Group. After finishing the 20 lessons under the teach one lesson step they now move towards the Form One Group with a book called "I have been Born Again Now" what by Charles Brock. This plan is pretty on paper but looks more like a train wreck when put into practice. Pray that we get some momentum back and start going into these houses with more and more people. Notice the NICE QUIET environment they have to work in especially at the end!

Interview with Bogdon

We had a chance to speak with Bogdon and ask him about the church start, his work and his family. Only 1 minute but very interesting as you will see in this short clip.

DAR Lady Three Years Later

Here is the picture that appeared in the Daily American Republic on Thursday, June 16, 2005 with an article on how Living Word Baptist wanted to start a church in this part of town....now it is a reality thanks to God. Teresa Myers cut this exact picture "out of the paper" and put it on her desk. Later she was on a mission trip in July of 2005 that allowed her to lead Lenuti to Christ! Now Randy and Teresa are HERE as missionaries and helping to establish this church in the valley. GOD is awesome!

MAY FIRST Church Service in New Meeting Place

This was May 1st, 2008, we had about 40 from the valley including children, we had about 20 Americans and 20 from the Baptist Church in the city. We need to get out and meet the people though because we just met for the third time and only had three people from the valley. We need to establish ourselves in the valley soon. Pray for us this week as we begin to knock on doors and help this fledgling church start along. We have had TREMENDOUS support from the big Baptist church Holy Trinity of which I am so thankful.... May God bless their efforts. We will begin to work extremely hard (when we have time) to get invitations out and also try to get in open the doors through the week. We will be looking for opportunities to get more people to come to our meetings. We meet every Sunday 10-12 and 6-8. We still need to get in the houses or we will not make it. We had almost 40 people from the mother church there this morning with out them it would be a very discouraging start.
Please pray that people will start coming to the services that we hold....many came that first day because the Americans were in town and they thought they might GET something from them. We have a toe hold in the valley and we plan on keeping it. People think that what we are doing is great but are not so motivated to come together, if we are in their house it is great though... We have a very important meeting on the 5th of June with a team from the states. They have the potential to help us in some very big ways. Please pray for this....

The Church in the Valley

This was those who showed up to our first Sunday Morning service. We had to go get the ones in the valley and remind them but they came! We had a pretty good group there to help start the work in the valley. We talked about what a church is and what a church isn't. We talked about putting your faith in Christ and turning from our sins. We were really pleased with the first service and expect many to follow. We also had around 10 others from the valley that came to the 5 oclock service that did not attend the morning service. So all in all we have around 12-15 from the valley as of now coming to our new location. We even had communion as it was the first day of the month and all baptist churches take communion on this day. We pray that the Lord will bless our efforts. I am sure that Satan is already working overtime to try and stop this...we just don't know if He will attack from those inside the church or on the outside...this is yet to be seen!

We took communion for the fist service in the valley it was so appropriate to share in this together with those who want the Lord's presence with us each and every step along the way. He has been so faithful to get us this far we dare not leave Him behind NOW!

It was a very casual invironment and we just went through Colossians chapter 1:15-23 to teach them some important truths about trusting our self or trusting in Christ who was from the begning, created all things, saved us from God's wrath by making peace with His blood and brought us back to God by His death in a human body. I simply tried to show them the could trust in Christ and Him alone for salvation. Bogdon and Paula really enjoyed the service also...PTL>

We were so glad to see Gina at our service. It was not easy but after about ten minutes of pleading with her she came to the morning service. It was at her house that the church really started over the six months of prayer meetings and bible studies. We have just changed locations. The church is not a building but a group who worship in spirit and truth! We asked each one to consider being baptised and begin taking the Lord's supper with us each time we take it. Two people raised their hands to begin this process we pray that we will be faithful to keep the services running..

Mini Cell Church Conference

Saturday we had our very first "conference" at the Regional Training Center. For me this was a great day! I hope to put many people through this "Cell Church" training center in the next ten years. We started with Christina's group which is already a very strong group and is very involved in the ministry. We covered the book 2nd Reformation by Bill Beckham. They were amazed at how different the traditional church is from the church that grew in the homes of believers during the first couple of centuries. We hope to take one group at a time through this training and slowly build a base of church planters through the development of more leaders. Galati is ripe for this type of church. We pray that the Lord will use Christina's group to expand His Kingdom.

This is a very healthy group and are now going through the "Make One Leader" step of the Galati Plan. This is part of our National Bible Reading Campaign that we use to reach out to the lost Orthodox believers. Here the group is in the "Vision Room" trying to see where they live in the city. This will be helpful to us as we begin to spread through out the city.
Of course they had to bring snacks....Oh Lord help me..to restrain from eating all this good food!

Christina - the leader of the group Zone 7

Aura who lives over in Zone12

Mama Catie lives in Zone 7

Sanda (Donnies sister, my first translator who helped get the work started in the valley Zone 6) lives in Zone 3 works over in Zone 6.

Catalina who is doing a great work in the valley lives in Zone 9

Teresa who lives in Zone 7, It was great to have Randy and Teresa join us for our mini conference.

Could be a Church Start

Here is the picture taken before beginning our meetings in our new rented location. We had a great turnout last night. There were around 80 people counting every last soul that was there. We had 15 Americans, about 20 from the local baptist church. So that leaves about 40 or so from the valley that were there. We have actually lost a lot of momentum in the valley but are hoping this will help us regain those that we have lost. We will start meeting every Sunday at 10 to 12. We had a man named Adrian that we are hoping can help us move forward in planting an official church. So we are celebrating today over this amazing night. Our goal is to reach the valley and this was a huge step in the right direction. Praise the Lord! We are so thankful and hope that ONLY He will get the glory for all that has been done..
Here Pastor David Groves is preaching to the people and hoping that they will understand the message of Salvation. Pastor has had huge influence in this church start. Two families from Living Word are now here in the valley working because of Living Word Baptist church passion for missions. We are thankful for our home church who are so committed to us as members and for their commitment to help the people in the valley. It was their trip in 2005 that really began the work with our first meeting at club CFR.

Here is Ruth doing ALL the work while the others just sat around and took pictures. Look at the leadership that Pastor David Groves is showing at this particular moment! Thanks Ruth for being such an example to all around you! We love all of them in spite of this though......we pray that as this team goes over to Moldova for another week of missions it will be blessed by our Heavenly Father!

Committed to the cause

This day we will try and begin an "official" church start in the valley. We have found a place to rent. We have the local church with us, we have found favor with the people in the valley, we have finally broken through a huge barrier. WE PRAY that we have at least. This is a picture from two years ago when we committed to helping these precious people in the valley get a church started. We started prayer walking the area Jan 1 2005. Today May 1, 2008 God's hand of mercy continues to reach out to the people in the valley., Zone 6. Nobody knows what tomorrow's blog picture will look like....will they show up tonight? Will anybody be there? What will the service look like? How can we step back and let God move through this? My hopes and prayers are that God will get all the glory for what He is about to do in the valley. Pray for our meeting tonight. We dearly need to hear from GOD today on how to start this and keep it going. We have already lost two places of meeting before this but our new location is perfect and we believe from God. We found the man that is renting it to us last year. Marshall Link and David Groves were our prayer walking when this man Stoin, the owner of this new meeting place invited them in for tea and coffee. Now only one year later we have a meeting place! Praise the Lord only He could have led us to this mans house.
We have had a good week so far, we even took a ride in a (carootza) horse drawn carriage two days ago with the team all aboard. All the way around the village and it was great! We have a team from Living Word Baptist that has come to help Randy and Teresa transition into their new life and help keep the work in the valley moving. They head to Moldova tomorrow for a mission there also. They have been a great team...thanks for sending them Living Word. It is not every day we get to see the beginning of an "official church" start.

Joe begins to follow Christ

This is Robert's friend Joe, (Johanas) somehow they met over the internet about three years ago I think. Robert began witnessing to him...and just chatting with him nearly every week if not day. They became extremely good friends although Joe was sticking to his story about what he believes. He is Catholic and that was enough. Well, when we went to Prague this past February for training Joe was able to train down and meet us. This was a very special time for Robert and Joe. He is a great young man. Very responsible and friendly. Well, he could only stay one day and I also had the chance to witness to him while we waited on the train. I had a little gospel presentation on the back of the international church bulletin. He read that all the way home and began thinking about being saved. He continued to write Robert and Robert handed him over to me via e-mail. "Dad Joe wants to be saved". So I started down the SJWF passages and only sent him one passage. Explain this to me.."For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". He wrote back with the answer and then said..."How long does this take to be saved!" "I am a desk clerk and I may fall asleep and hit my head and die." I don't want to tell God I was going to get saved..... So any way the next night I spent one hour with him on the phone....he didn't pray a prayer he just confirmed in His own heart that he DID believe. Now he is writing Robert saying my heart is different...I am reading my Bible and I really do feel different! Praise the Lord for Roberts persistence in winning his friend to the Lord. Now he has a true friend IN CHRIST...in Germany. It is interesting because Joe's name in German is Johanas...(sp) the same as the last book of the Bible-Revelation! He had read that book and knew that he needed to be saved...just didn't know how!

Pray for Joe as he begins His new walk with Jesus.....! Joe is a great young man I am glad to have met him and pray that the Lord will really bless his walk...

CCSBA Spring of 2008

This was an awesome week for us here in Galati. God did his handy work one more time and showed Himself to be faithful. This is the prayer room where we prayed and at times we were so moved by the spirit tears were shed and His Spirit also cleansed us of our own sin. We had 100 NT on that table hoping to give them to people in Zone 9 this week. We found that the area was more open then last year and we believe it was the day of prayer that changed that for us. We had many great encounters and were able to enter one mans house. This is only the second apartment we have entered since beginning work there almost two years ago. His name is Mario so please pray for him. We did lesson one with him yesterday. We had many great encounters met Hindus, Muslims and of course many orthodox believers with the Gospel using SJWF.
Here is Yolonda, Bill, Marshall, Randy and Ed all in the vision room pointing to the target, Zone 9!

Here we are in the mobilization room talking about the things that were on our hearts. How to reach a lost and dying world, starting with Zone 9 and also how to reach Southeast Missouri with the Gospel.

Marshall, we have to go, we have to get people out of the church, we can't wait for them to come to us.....! His pastor was there on his right to keep him in line....Brush Creek sent a great group and made up more then half the team!

As a group we discovered that Christ is the head of the church..not us! He opens doors no one can shut and closes doors no one can open. So we learned to daily depend on Christ and not our own understanding. This was THE LESSON of the week and what a sweet lesson that is for those of us in the west that want to see things happen....RIGHT NOW!

Once again we had so many great prayer meetings I will never forget this because they were the first prayer meetings in our new location! You just want to pray when you get in there...you are truly in the Holy of Holies, next to the feet of our wonderful God and Saviour. We felt the presence of the Lord in ways that I have not experienced for a long time.

Thanks Cane Creek for sending the point people, the exploration group, the marines, those that will go and recruit the next squad. They left about 1 million people that don't know Jesus behind and now have a great responsiblity to pass on the need to others in Cane Creek. We are now focusing on trying to get a group started in Zone 9 as soon as the Lord will show us just HOW we are to do this. Please pray....
  • Highlights included
  • Madalina working with the team and doing street evangelism just after being saved
  • Our wonderful translators-Adriana, Carmen, Anda,
  • Preaching in all four Baptist churches here in Galati and Braila-all baptist work combined
  • Working with Golgotha again after two years away
  • Using the Regional Training Center for the National Bible Reading Campaing for the first time
  • Witnessing to Muslims that are refugees here from war torn Africa
  • Finding some people who were very open to the Gospel
  • Refocuing our efforts on Zone 9
  • Meeting with Pastor Ovi was very encouraging
  • Randy and I going to see Mr Sing at the Steel Factory finding out that he is NOT a born again believer as once thought and reported. He is Hindu...and needs to be saved.
  • Seeing the humility in this group of pastors was very encouraging to me.
  • Handing out about 45 New Testaments to people who first heard the Gospel through SJWF
  • Discovering a new way to reach out to people in the concrete aparments, (jungle)!
  • Use of the flip camera to do street interviews...very, very effective.
  • Randy and Teresa stay here and didn't leave with the team.....

May God get all the Glory for what He did through our humble efforts this week!

Our New Team Members

Here are our new ,fresh out of ILC/FPO,sent from LWBC/CCSBA IMB missionaries! We are so thankful to our Lord for sending help! Here we are trying out their new couch in their new apartment. That is Lorenso/Roland here also.....he is a great friend and is very happy to see Randy and Teresa here also.
Here is me taking a picture of Randy taking a picture...Teresa is out on her balcony.

Here we are picking them up from the rail-road station. Here is Randy taking a picture of Katie taking a picture.

In bound two new IMB missionaries. Randy and Teresa Myers arriving on the 5:15 pm train from Bucharest. They have been going through the process for less then a year. The last thing I told Randy when he left last year was....put your application packet in now. Less then a year later here they are. They will be a great asset to our team and have arrived with a servants heart. Please pray for them as they adjust to Romanian lessons starting on the 14th coming Monday. They will be in class two hours a day and spend and additional four hours studying, along with my wife! I will start in one month. I am so thankful to the Lord God in heaven for sending them to us.....PTL. (Roland already took them over to his house for a good home cooked Romanian meal)

Pastor Marius

Here is a picture of Pastor Marius. He has a great heart for the Lord and a passion that stands alone amongst his peers. He is now the pastor of the new Second Baptist church in Braila. He is very, very interested in the "Cell Church" model. He has a chance to really do it as he is now free to explore a new way to reach the lost. Please pray for him. Here he is in the vision room with ten copies of the 2nd Reformation that Bill Beckam wrote. Please pray that God will help us do this in the city of Braila. We are looking at nearly 1,000,000 people between the two cities. Combined they would be the second largest city in all of Romania. We now have a total of 300 or 400 Baptist in both cities. So out of nearly 1,000,000 people we have less then 0.04% believers.

So pray for Pastor Marius and his vision for his church. Please also pray for Pastor Stephenuti at Braila. Today I went and preached at Iaanca had found a lively church full of 40 people or so. We also had a great meal with much laughter afterwards. Praise the Lord!

Ilian is Ordained

My good friend Ilian was ordained yesterday at Focsani. This is a BIG deal here in Romania and was a real blessing to be a part of the ceremony. He and I have become very good friends over the last couple of years. We really have not worked so much together but we do plan on changing that. He really wants to do the small group Cell Type church that fits well into the culture. He is a very talented man and has a Joy and sparkle in his eyes showing that he loves the Lord. We pray that his ministry will be blessed and that he will see fruit over the next few years.
Here he is actually getting to serve the "Lords Supper" for the first time! This is a great honor in the Baptist Culture and not just anyone is allowed to serve this meal to the believers. Over the past ten years they have had to send someone from the Galati church, which is almost two hours away to do the Lord's supper each month. Now Ilion can serve his church himself. AMEN!

I told them about the time that I was ordained and how my toes were bent "sort of backwards" over the twenty minutes preaching that was in English;, then translated into Romanian and Russian. I said it was really a very painful twenty minutes! They all laughed....but compared to what Christ did for us....of coarse it was very trivial and amounted to nothing. I pray that the Lord will bless my dear Brother and his family.
I preached from 1 Thessalonians on the ministry from Paul's perspective: It is something I got from the great book John Mc Arther wrote, He pointed out that this is the best book to show what the ministry really looks like:
1) Praying 1:1-2
2) Evangelizing 1:4-5, 9-10
3) Equipping 1:6-8
4) Defending 2:1-6
5) Loving 2:7-8
6) Laboring 2:9
7) Modeling 2:10
8) Leading 2:10-12
9) Feeding 2:13
10) Watching 3:1-8
11) Warning 4:1-8
12) Teaching 4:9-5:11
13) Exhorting 5:11-24
The real miracle Troy got through this in 30 minutes!
Well, Pray for our dear Brother to flurish in all these categories of ministry and more...we dearly need an outpouring of God's Spirit here in this part of the world....

Spring Time brings NEW LIFE

This is a group that Bogdon just started. This is the second time they have met and should have included about five more men. He actually has enough men now to start two groups. PTL! Any way the guy on the far left is Victor. He is a repenter from several years back and is Lenuta's son, (DAR) lady. The guy on the right of Bogdon is Resvon who is very interested in repenting but wants to understand more before he repents. ( I countered this with, "If I told you that I had 10,000 Ron over on the other side of the city just for you and your family how long would it take before you were in my car following me!) They all laughed at that one! The guy to the right of Bogdon is Nicu who ran away from Bogdon one year ago after his religion teacher told him we were evil and to stay away from us. It seems now that he is much more interested in hearing about repentace after some recent events and ran to Bogdon. He gave his life to Christ yesterday after about one hour of listening to us explain God's great gift of Jesus and forgiveness. Please pray for Nelu he is a SUPER kid only 17 and has a very gentle and wonderful spirit. He is one of the Madoi family we call the accordan family from years back. Praise the Lord for all that HE is doing through Bodgon at the moment. (This may be a foxhole conversion so please pray for the enemy not to take the seeds from him this time)

Seeing the Potential

I met a great guy the day before yesterday at the Pastors meeting. He is Petreka who is a church planter in Braila county. He knows where every church is, how many members, if they meet in a building or house or room. He has a great heart to reach out but is extremely overworked. We went down the list of needs, the number one need...they need a plan! I am praying that we can move the Galati Plan to Braila and begin the work of training a couple of church planters over there. Here we are sitting in the Vision Room that now has maps of Romania and the city of Galati. Please pray that God will maximize this new friendship for his Glory! He is a law student and the manager slash chaplin at the medical clinic located in the church and does full time church planting activities.

After doing lesson five which is about the need to be Born Again, Chiprean prayed to accept Christ. He might have some shakey motives..(nuff said) but I pray that God showed mercy on his soul! He listened to the thirty minute testimony of a former Orthodox Priest who also gave his life to Christ. After the testimony he said, Every thing he said about the Orthodox is true. It is just tradition with no meaning. Pray for him as we continue to concentrate on making disciples. He will continue to do the lessons.
This is the map in the vision room. LOOK at the valley. The pink flags represent all the houses that we have a welcome invitation in. I think it is over twenty with some representing multiple families. It is probably more like fifty families with well over 150-200 people under the possible outreach potential. We praise God for one convert but this really is incredible what is happening down there....praise God and all the Glory goes to him. I think it is amazing that this was the product of SBC teams from America coming three years in a row to just say Hi and be apart of their lives while teaching simple lessons to lost people. God is so good to allow us to see this happen from nothing to this in just three years!

This is our prayer room...we just put the chairs in yesterday and had a powerful time of prayer with the brothers that operate the boys home. See the cusions under the chairs....for your knees!

I pray that we have a great out pouring of God's Spirit in this room when people leave the Vision room next to it and realize the great need for new churches in our region. Galati was just noted as the largest city with the fewest number of EV churches in all of Romania. This is why I believe God brought me to Galati and He has been so very gracious to show us how we can do church planting in a different way that concentrates on the lostness and not just keeping all the rules!
